Sebastian's Action Trust welcomes HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO to The Bluebells

Bluebells Royal Visit 037On Wednesday 28th January 2015, Sebastian's Action Trust welcomed HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO to The Bluebells.

Visiting for the first time, the Countess met a number of the children and families supported by the Trust. She attended an afternoon tea with Mums and took part in a music therapy session while undertaking a tour of the facilities with Chief Executive and founder of the Trust Mrs Jane Gates OBE.

The Countess unveiled a plaque to commemorate her visit and all of the attendees sang Happy Birthday to the Countess with a personalised cake that was designed by local cake shop 'Sweet As Sugar' in Bagshot. She was then presented with a posy by 11 year old Trust service-user Glynnis Mashiri before leaving.

Speaking after the visit, Mrs Gates commented:

“It was a lovely family orientated occasion and it was hugely exciting for everybody to meet the Countess, who showed so much interest in the families and what Sebastian’s Action Trust is able to do to support families in need. “The Countess was very natural and engaging and she was very keen to find out as much as possible during her visit. It was an honour for the Trust to welcome her here and I am sure it is a day we will all remember for a long time.”
