As a recipient of Children in Need funding the Trust was delighted to feature on the BBC Appeal show last Friday evening (13th November). The film, broadcast on BBC South just after 9pm featured the moving stories of two of the families supported by the Trust.
Some of the filming shown on Friday was taken at our ‘Christmas in July’ event this year at Marwell Zoo, for over 80 families of seriously-ill children. Children aged from two months to 18 years-old enjoyed a festive fun-filled day full of surprises with their families. They arrived at the enchanting Marwell Hall and were greeted by a seasonally colourful 12ft Christmas tree which symbolised the Trust’s Christmas in Summer campaign.
Some of the families featured in the film attended a party on Friday evening at The Bluebells, the Trust’s respite home, followed by a screening of the video.
Mark Courage, the Chair of Trustees, is grateful for the support from Children in Need; “We are thankful for the grant provided by Children in Need which enables us to continue the work we do, walking alongside families with seriously-ill children. Without this we would not be able to expand the support we can offer our families. Without the assistance of Children in Need, achieving our goals and aspirations for families would be hard to fulfil and for this alone we are most grateful.’
