The fog lifted just in time to make way for a sea of Santa’s to run, walk or jog the 7km route around the lake at Virginia Water for Queen’s Award winning charity, Sebastian’s Action Trust.
Santa’s of all ages marked the start of the festive season by donning their Santa suits, beards and hats, whilst raising money to support families with seriously-ill or life-limited children.
Events Coordinator, Hannah Lambart said, “It was great to see so many families, colleagues and friends coming together for our Santa Fun Run. This really was a great way to kick-start the festive season. It was fantastic to see people of all ages take part and make their way around the lake. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who got into the spirit and made it a fun-filled morning for a great cause”.
Bagshot mother, Jane de Vries added, "My 10 year old son Edward and I participated in the Santa run. This was our second go at it after last year and there was no doubt this year that we would join in after the fun of last Christmas' event. The sight of 150 plus Santa's puffing around Virginia Water would have been too good to miss! The Christmas atmosphere was lovely, and Edward was particularly happy to be the second young Santa to finish. With a hint of blue sky it was all in all a cheering way to spend a Sunday morning and all in a good cause".
