We offer an ever- evolving programme of support, to families of children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, aged 0-19. Our holistic model of care provides family breaks in addition to emotional, social and practical support that is flexible, adapting to the needs of each family in a way that always respects choice, individuality and the implications of living with a new, often unwelcome ‘normal’.
Our support includes:
Family breaks
We provide both planned and crisis breaks to families from across the UK at our fully-accessible facility, The Bluebells. We also offer separate breaks for bereaved ‘butterfly’ families.
Outreach support
Our outreach provision ensures continuity of care for families at home, in hospital and in the community. This service is available to beneficiaries across the five counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey.
Outreach youth support
Our youth support workers provide tailored support to the seriously-ill child and their siblings through one-to-one sessions, youth groups and activity days.
Outreach finance and welfare support
We provide finance and welfare support to help families navigate through the complexities of accessing benefits and allowances, in addition to securing equipment and services that will improve their lives.
Outreach bereavement care
We continue to walk alongside increasing numbers of bereaved families, offering bespoke one-to-one, peer support and a Remembrance Day event.
Outreach therapeutic support
We offer a range of art, music and horticultural activities that provide one to one and group engagement, alongside traditional elements of wellbeing and complimentary therapies that are incorporated within our holistic model of care.
Events, activities and workshops
We have an enhanced range of activities and events for our ‘family of families’ to encourage social integration and to foster peer support.
Counselling
Our counsellor promotes resilience in parents of life-limited children, by enabling them to make sense of their emotions and find ways to take care of themselves as they continue with the challenging role of caregiver.
