Support when it matters most

From restorative breaks to community connections and personalised care, every service we offer helps families of life-limited children feel supported, understood and valued

What we offer

At Sebastian’s Action Trust, we provide a range of services designed to help families navigate the challenges of life-limiting childhood conditions. From restorative breaks to emotional support, therapy, community connections and practical help, everything we do is focused on creating space, comfort and joy for children, young people and their families.

Restorative breaks

Our flagship centre, The Bluebells, is a “home-from-home” in North Waltham where families can relax, reconnect and simply enjoy being together. Fully accessible and designed for comfort, it offers apartments, gardens, a hydrotherapy pool, sensory spaces and creative rooms. Families can book overnight stays or day visits. While there is no charge to stay, we warmly encourage donations.

Community

Life with a seriously ill child or young person can feel isolating. Our community events and family activities bring people together who truly understand, providing peer support, friendship and opportunities to make lasting memories. From sibling sessions and parent meet-ups to seasonal celebrations and activity days, there’s space to connect, laugh and feel supported.

Therapies

Our therapy services support emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. From hydrotherapy and music therapy to counselling, families can access specialist support in a safe, welcoming environment. Sessions help children and young people express themselves, find comfort and create moments of joy, while parents and siblings receive guidance and reassurance.

Bereavement support

When a child or young person dies, life changes forever. We support families with compassionate bereavement care, peer connection and opportunities to remember and reflect. Support is personalised, ongoing and available in person, at home or online. Siblings are also offered safe spaces to share feelings and memories.

Other support we offer

Digital support

We bring support directly to families, wherever they are. Through online workshops, virtual groups, check-ins and digital counselling, families can stay connected, receive advice and find community, even when visiting The Bluebells isn’t possible.

Crisis outreach

When life changes suddenly, our family services team steps in with calm, practical and emotional support. We help families navigate urgent challenges, offering reassurance and relief during the most difficult moments.

Transport

Travelling with complex needs can be exhausting. Our volunteer transport service helps families get to appointments, events and activities safely and comfortably. Drivers are fully vetted, and we aim to make every journey easier and less stressful.
