The Bluebells

A home-from-home for families who need it most

Where children can be children, and families can just be

Welcome to The Bluebells

The Bluebells is our family centre, a welcoming home from home in the pretty Hampshire village of North Waltham.

The Bluebells is at the heart of what we do, offering families a space to meet, have fun, relax and recharge. It’s a safe space, where families facing unimaginable challenges can feel part of a community of people who understand.

Everything families need, all in one place

The Bluebells is a purpose-built facility designed to be fully accessible and inclusive. From a hydrotherapy pool to a sensory room, music room to a cinema suite, there’s plenty to keep children, young people and their siblings entertained. Outside there’s a landscaped garden with an accessible playground and a remembrance garden designed for quiet reflection.

Sebastian’s Action Trust offers restorative breaks for families in the local area and from further afield. Two fully-equipped apartments provide a safe and welcoming space where families can come to relax, recharge and enjoy making precious memories together.

The centre is the hub of our activities programme, offering a range of events and activities for children, young people, parents and siblings.

Laura our house manager

Meet Laura – The Bluebells House Manager

Hi, I’m Laura and I’m the house manager here at The Bluebells. Whether families are here for a weekend break, an activity session or just for some chill time, it’s my job to make sure everyone feels welcome, safe and comfortable, and that they have chance to enjoy time together.
Brother and sister
I would describe The Bluebells as my safe space. It’s a happy place to build everlasting memories. A chance for our children to be what they deserve to be…children.

Being able to come to The Bluebells is a huge part of our routine. Without The Bluebells we would struggle to leave the house. There aren’t many “safe” places we can take Rosie due to her unpredictable health, but I always know that we can rely on everyone at The Bluebells (parents and staff alike) to look after us, make us comfortable, and give us the support we need to be out of the house. Coming to The Bluebells feels like coming home.
