Here during the unexpected

We’re here to offer support, guidance and a steady presence. Helping families feel held, understood and not alone when life throws sudden challenges

Crisis outreach

When life changes suddenly, a new diagnosis, a hospital dash, a frightening turn in your child’s condition, or simply a day when everything feels too heavy, you don’t have to face it alone.

Sebastian’s Action Trust is here to step in gently and quickly when families need extra support.

Here for the moments that feel too much

Our Family Support team offers calm, compassionate help at home or in the community during difficult times. This might look like:

  • A steady voice on the end of the phone
  • Someone to sit with you, listen and understand
  • Help with practical worries when life feels overwhelming, such as help with paperwork, appropriate signposting, or simply making sense of what needs doing next
  • Support for siblings who may be scared or confused
  • Extra guidance or reassurance when things feel uncertain

Every family’s crisis is different, and we respond to what you need.

Support that wraps around you

We don’t replace medical teams or emergency services. We simply make sure you’re not carrying everything on your own.
Our role is to bring reassurance when fear takes over, ease immediate pressures, help you feel safe, supported and understood, and stay beside you until things feel steadier.
Sometimes this means doing a lot. Sometimes it means being present. Both matter.

And we stay with you afterwards

Once the immediate storm has passed, we continue to offer the wider support of the charity: from therapies and community events to digital support, restorative breaks and, when needed, bereavement care.
You are never “just a moment of crisis” to us.

If you need us, reach out

If you are a registered family and need urgent support, please contact our family services team.
If you’re not yet registered but caring for a life-limited or life-threatened child, we will guide you through the first steps.
No family should face their hardest moments alone.
We are here for you, for as long as you need us.
