Keeping families safe

Every service and space is designed so families can feel protected, respected and supported

Safeguarding

At Sebastian’s Action Trust, the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and families is our highest priority.

We are committed to creating an environment, both at The Bluebells and across all our services, where everyone feels safe, respected and protected.

Safeguarding sits at the heart of who we are. Whether families are visiting for a restorative break, joining an event, or receiving support from our team, they can be confident that we take our responsibilities extremely seriously.

Our policies and standards

We follow robust safeguarding policies and procedures that meet statutory guidance and best practice across the charity and health sectors.

These policies cover:

  • Child protection
  • Adult safeguarding
  • Safer recruitment
  • Data protection and confidentiality
  • Whistleblowing
  • Online and digital safety

Our policies are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain up to date, effective and aligned with current legislation.

Our people

Keeping families safe is a responsibility shared by everyone at Sebastian’s Action Trust. All employees, volunteers and trustees undergo DBS checks. Every team member receives regular safeguarding training appropriate to their role. We promote a culture where concerns are listened to, taken seriously and acted upon. Safeguarding is overseen by a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and deputies who provide guidance and ensure consistent practice across the Trust. This strong, proactive safeguarding culture helps us maintain an environment where families can relax, connect and enjoy time together with confidence and peace of mind.

If you have a concern

If you are ever worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person, adult or member of our community, please speak with a member of our team immediately. We will listen, act and support you. Contact details for our Safeguarding Leads can be found in our safeguarding policy, or you can reach us via our main office number or email.
